The revolution will not be televised
The revolution will not be streamed, by a Harvey Weinstein dream team, pedophiles and rapists, sociopaths and misogynists, the revolution
Will not be televised.
You won't find the revolution hiding under phone screens, a swipe away, peddled out to you by greedy thugs, buried somewhere in social media.
The revolution will not be tik toked, instagrammed, facebooked, reddited, and most of all, the revolution will not be Xed.
The revolution is not blueskyed, its not to be thumbtacked in your Substack, saved for another day.
The revolution is found in smashed phones,
cut up credit cards and broken drones.
The revolution is not trending now,
it's not to be followed, liked, or reacted to.
This is your brain, and this is your brain on revolution the revolution is in your brain, not your everyday shit, it's a whole different ball game.
The revolution needs to know if you're down with this,
the day you put down your phone and put up your fist,
you stop playing that game and now you're a freedom fighter,
and you put down your blame and raise up your lighter, because this the kinda flame that never burns out, United, fighting against forces of the evil empire,
the revolution is the source of the fire.
In a country divided and the people polarized,
Politicians and CEOs with mouths full of lies,
the revolution will not be televised
The revolution will never keep up with the Kardashians,
it's not Naked and Afraid, its not Fox news , CNN, or the Thanksgiving day parade. It's not the Superbowl, the Fourth of July or the World Cup,
The revolution needs you to burn your phone and show up.
Because raising up the members of our community,
no matter what race, gender, or sexuality, all of us together is what revolution needs.
It doesn't care whatever you posted online, how many likes or shares, but what you doing offline.
Not what insults you posted and lines you stole—
The revolution doesn't have room for trolls.
The revolution is not from the North or the South,
It's not on YouTube talking outta both sides of it's mouth
and you're blind to the solution if you look to the blue light, you won't find the revolution by swiping left or right,
because the revolution will not be televised.
The revolution is not $7.99 a month with ads, kid, it's not starring Leo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt,
it's not there to stare at while your brain goes to shit,
because the revolution will not be televised.
The revolution is not brought to you by Amazon Prime, while the elites profit of you and you don't see a dime, no bankroll, your bank accounts empty like Trump's soul, the revolution cannot be bought and sold.
The revolution isn't coming to a screen near you, it's not a way to pass the time while you sitting in the drive through, back to work, back to that everyday grind, back to shackles on your wrists and circumscription of your mind,
while you let yourself regress and and you just watch and sit while species die out and the world goes to shit,
and you know damn well that staring at screens isn't taking a step,
isn't getting anything done,
isn't productivity
and it sure ain't revolution.
There will be no tv show with a cliffhanger to end the season, you won't find out who ended up with who, who held the gun, what happened after the fade to black,
you won't be able to rewind this shit back,
because the revolution ain't in the media that keeps you hypnotized,
that keeps you dumb and locked down with your fuckin hands tied,
